London, May 23 (CRICKETNMORE): England all-rounder Ben Stokes will miss the second cricket Test against Sri Lanka after injuring his left knee during their first Test victory and will be replaced by Chris Woakes.

Following a scan on Sunday and review by the medical team, it was advised that Stokes would be unavailable for the match in Durham. The 24-year-old will be reviewed by a consultant on Tuesday to decide on a management plan, according to a statement by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Woakes will join the England squad on Tuesday ahead of the match starting in Chester-le-Street on Friday.

The England Test squad: Alastair Cook (captain), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Stuart Broad, Nick Compton, Steven Finn, Alex Hales, Joe Root, James Vince, Chris Woakes.
