Imphal, March 25, Playing in front of home fans is an experience cherished by every player. Though the Indian football team would get support from Indian fans wherever it plays, having thousands of fans from one's own state or city chanting their name inside the stadium is an experience worth remembering.
On Wednesday, the seven Manipur players that are part of the senior India men's national team in the ongoing Hero Tri-Nation International Football Tournament were lucky to experience something that one of the state's greatest players, Renedy Singh, couldn't while representing the Blue Tigers on home soil.
"I was part of the national team for 12 years, but I never got to play even one match over here," said Renedy, the star midfielder of the Senior National Team, who donned the national jersey 66 times between 1998 and 2011.
