March 12 (CRICKETNMORE) - Rangana Herath claimed 6-59 runs in the second innings as hosts Sri Lanka dismissed Bangladesh for 197 runs to win the test by 259 runs  at Galle on Saturday giving them a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series.

It was his 23rd five or more wicket haul in test cricket which took his wickets tally to 366 in five day game. He surpassed New Zealand's Daniel Vettori record, who has 362 wickets to his name, to become Test cricket's most successful left-arm spinner.

Among all left-arm bowlers, only Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram is ahead of Herath, with 414 wickets.
