Visakhapatnam, Nov 20 (CRICKETNMORE): England reached 40 for no loss in their second innings at tea of the fourth day after India set them a target of 405 to win the second Test cricket match here on Sunday.

England openers Alastair Cook (28 not out) and Haseeb Hameed (12 not out) started well for the visitors as each of them played 84 deliveries at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.

All the Indian bowlers toiled hard but Cook and Hameed stood strong and showed their hunger to grind it out till tea.

Earlier in the day, India were bowled out for 204 runs, taking their overall lead to 404 runs.

Resuming the day at 98/3, Ajinkya Rahane (26) and skipper Virat Kohli (81) started the proceeding on a good note as they forged a crucial 77-run partnership for the fourth wicket before Rahane was sent back to the pavilion by pacer Stuart Broad in 39th over.

Apart from the duo, Jayant Yadav (27 not out) and Mohammad Shami (19) added 42 vital runs for the 10th wicket to stretch India's overall lead.
