India didn't have a memorable game with the bat in the first test. The batsmen looked uncomfortable with the spin on offer. However, the management will be happy to see the contributions from Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar in the first innings. Pant played a typical attacking inning, while Sundar once again showed his ability to bat with a gritty 85.
