August 12, Colombo (CRICKETNMORE) – Hosts Sri Lanka took a 175-run lead after being bowled out for 367 in their second innings on third day of the first Test match against India at the Galle International Stadium here on Friday.

Toss : Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first.

1st Innings (SL) : Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed an impressive six-wicket haul as India bundled out hosts Sri Lanka for 183 in the first innings.  Ashwin (6/46) alongside leg-spinner Amit Mishra (2/21) flummoxed the Sri Lankan batsmen to bowl them out in just 49.4 Pacers Ishant Sharma (1/30) and Varun Aaron (1/68) were the other wicket-taking bowlers for India. For Sri Lanka, skipper Angelo Mathews (64) was the highest scorer.

2nd Innings (IND) :Opener Shikhar Dhawan (134) and skipper Virat Kohli (103) struck fluent centuries to help India take a healthy192-run first innings lead as Sri Lankan bowlers struck late to bowl out the visitors for 375.

3rd Innings (SL) : Sri Lanka took a 175-run lead after being bowled out for 367 in their second innings. Resuming at the overnight score of 5/2 after conceding a 192-run first innings lead, right-arm batsman Dinesh Chandimal's responsible unbeaten knock of 162 helped the home team avoid the follow-on. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin continued his impressive form in the match, taking 4/114 in 28.2 overs to complete a 10-wicket haul in the match. He was assisted by leg-spinner Amit Mishra 3/61 in 17 overs.
