Rohit Sharma's 171* is the highest individual score against Australia in Australia. Earlier the record was with West Indian legend Sir Viv Richards' 153*. The Indian record was of Sourav Ganguly.who scored 141 against Pakistan in Australia.

Virat Kohli scored his first 50 in an ODI against Australia in Australia.


Rohit Sharma becomes the fastest batsman in the world to score 1000 runs in ODI against Australia. He did this in 19 innings. Earlier the record was hold by Sachin Tendulkar (India) and Brian Lara (West Indies). They both made in 20 innings.


For the first time in ODI history, two partnerships of 200+ (one in each innings) were made. For India, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma added 207 runs for the second wicket. For Australia, G Bailey and Steven Smith added 242 runs for the thrid wicket.
