Melbourne, Jan 23. Big hitting Brisbane Heat captain Chris Lynn was on Sunday named the Player of the Tournament for the Big Bash League (BBL). Throughout the season, Lynn scored 378 runs off 218 balls with a highest score of 101 and in the process became the tournament's highest run-scorer in Australia's domestic Twenty20 tournament. Lynn earned 22 votes, beating three Adelaide Strikers players for the title with Adil Rashid (17), Mahela Jayawardena (15) and Travis Head (14) finishing in the top-four most valuable players.

Votes are awarded on a 3-2-1 basis by the standing umpires at the end of each match -- meaning a player can receive up to six votes per match. Lynn was recently selected in Australia's Twenty20 International squad to play against India after his powerful BBL performances which saw him register 27 sixes and 23 fours during the campaign.
