Dhaka, October 6 - Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan is looking forward to the International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting for a permanent solution to series delays over security concerns.

The meeting will be held at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Friday. The BCB chief believes Bangladesh have a strong position in the world body, reports bdnews24.com.

"I know if I tell something in the ICC (meeting), they will listen with attention. I will try to explain to the ICC and the others that games cannot stop in places over threats where there is no past record," Hassan said.

Cricket Australia (CA) postponed their team's Bangladesh tour over security concerns last Thursday after six days of uncertainty about their arrival. Then BCB and Cricket South Africa (CSA) suspended the women cricket team's Bangladesh tour on 'mutual consent' on Monday to make new security arrangements.

Hassan thinks the ICC will need to play a key role in clearing up the issue "or else the games will stop here and there (over threats). All countries have such threats but the games won't stop for that. ICC must play a role on this (issue) and devise a solution".

He insists international cricket and board authorities need to work together for a lasting solution to the problem. The BCB, however, is disinclined to organise just any series to bring international cricket home.

Asked if the board is keen to invite Zimbabwe in November, Hassan said, "It is possible to bring them over but I don't want to invite a team just to make a point to ICC or the public. I want a permanent solution to the problem
