IPL Stats & Records - The 15th season of the Indian Premier League kicked off as IPL 2021 runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders defeated defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the first match on March 26th.

In every season of the Indian Premier League, the highest wicket-taker is awarded a Purple Cap. Throughout the tournament, the highest wicket-taker wears a Purple Cap and the cap changes heads as the bowler exceeds each other's numbers.
