The ODI series ended in favor of South Africa, as they won it by a 2-1 margin. South Africa won it without their first-choice bowling unit. Though they don't have their key bowlers available for the first test also.

Kagiso Rabada is out due to a hamstring injury. The first test will begin at 1 PM IST on Friday at Kingsmead, Durban. These three matches are important for both teams as they are in the race to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship 2025-27.
