Mumbai, April 24 (IANS) The Indian Premier League (IPL) technical committee has approved a replacement for Mumbai Indians' pacer Josh Hazlewood, a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) release said on Friday.

All-rounder Colin Munro will replace the Australian in the team, paving the way for the New Zealander's debut in the tournament.

Hazlewood pulled out of the IPL to keep himself fit and fresh for the West Indies tour and Ashes defence later this year.

"The IPL Technical Committee has approved the replacement of Josh Hazlewood by Colin Munro in the Mumbai Indians squad," the release said.

Munro has played one Test, seven One-day Internationals (ODIs) and 14 T20 Internationals for his country.

The IPL technical committee consists of BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur, administrators Sourav Dasgupta, Subir Ganguly and former cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri.
