AUS v ENG: Half-centuries from David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne have helped Australia take control of the things at tea on day 1 of the pink ball test with the score reading 129/1.

Resuming the session at 45/1, Warner and Labuschagne looked more solid. Although England continued to bowl tight lines and no easy runs were on offer, but the duo looked better assured to deal with England's changing tactics.

Joe Root tried the conventional tactics but wasn't shy to bounce the Aussies with close-in fielders. With not much help for the bowlers, Root himself had to chip in with a few overs to keep the overrate in check.

Both Warner and Labuschagne reached their fifties and are looking comfortable to put on a big score in the twilight session of the day where England bowlers are expected to come back with the evening breeze.

Brief Scorecard:

Australia - 129/1
