18th May, Ranchi - The Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their hopes alive of making it to the play-offs in the Indian Premier League 2014 on Sunday when they snatched a close victory against Chennai Super Kings.

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli hailed his players for showing competitive spirit  in the thrilling five-wicket win over formidable Chennai Super Kings.

"It's a great win for us especially with the way the track played in the 2nd innings. The guys showed a lot of character as we hung in though the run rate mounted. AB played a superb cameo and Yuvraj in the form he is in was able to do is. Myself and Gayle backed ourselves to bat on to set a base for the chase," Kohli said after his side's victory at the post-match presentation ceremony.

"I did not send any message. Yuvi told me he wanted Abu Nechim to get a single, but he just stepped out and slammed the ball for six. That's the belief players have now," he added.
