    After the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain, Afghanistan confirmed their place in the ODI World Cup to be held in 2023 in India. 

    After the match was abandoned due to rain, Afghanistan attained 5 points in the Cricket World Cup Super League to take their total tally to 115 points. Courtesy of this, Afghanistan are currently placed seventh on the points table, where the top eight sides would automatically qualify for the World Cup to be held next year.
