37th National Games: Clean Sweep In Mallakhamb, Modern Pentathlon Help Maharashtra Top Medal Tally

Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium: Maharashtra, riding on the clean sweep of gold medals in Mallakhamb and Modern Pentathlon, extended their lead in the medal tally over contenders Haryana and defending champions, Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) in the 37th National Games being held at various venues in Goa..

At the end of the day on Saturday, Maharashtra took a lead of over 10 gold medals against their nearest rivals.

Kerala women beat Karnataka 57-54 to defend their title and win the gold, while Punjab Men won gold by beating defending champions Tamil Nadu 105-103 in overtime in the basketball competitions at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim. Punjab had lost to Tamil Nadu in the final of the last edition of the games, according to information reaching here.
