Pro Golf Tournament: Sneha Singh, who has been searching for her form for long, played one of the finest rounds of her professional career as she closed her second round with seven consecutive birdies in the 11th Leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tournament (WPGT) at the Clover Greens in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday.
Sneha carded 10-under 61 and, after a first round of 2-over 73, now has an aggregate of 8-under 134 and leads the field.
The 2023 Order of Merit winner, Sneha, has not won a single event this season. She opened with a birdie and added a second one on the third before dropping her only shot of the day. She again birdied the seventh and turned in 2-under 35.
The wiry 22-year-old Sneha was on fire on the second nine. She birdied the 10th and parred the 11th, but that was the last par she had for the day. She birdied every hole from the 12th to 18th and closed with a 61.
Overnight co-leaders Vani Kapoor, Ayesha Gupta and Riya Jadon had differing fortunes.
Vani, despite an even par 71, was sole second but four shots behind the leader Sneha. Vani had four birdies between the seventh and the 12th, and she also had four bogeys, two each on the front and back nine. She was sole second.
Amateur Ayesha, who was outstanding on the first day with a 67, had two birdies against four bogeys for a 73, and she fell to tied third.
Also tied third was Nayanika Sanga, who has also been playing in Europe. She carded a 3-under 68 with three birdies and an eagle and two bogeys.
Tvesa Malik, who had a 73 on Day 1, improved by five shots to 68 and moved to 1-under for 36 holes. She was tied seventh with Smriti Bhargava (70-71).
Also tied third was Nayanika Sanga, who has also been playing in Europe. She carded a 3-under 68 with three birdies and an eagle and two bogeys.

The cut after two rounds fell at 155, and 31 players will play the final round.
