Union Home Minister Amit Shah: BCCI president Mithun Manhas on Monday praised India’s differently-abled cricketers for their inspiring campaign in the United Kingdom, describing the team’s journey as a reflection of resilience, determination and an unwavering passion for the sport after meeting the players.

Manhas met the Indian Mixed Disability Men’s Cricket Team in the national capital alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia. The interaction followed India’s successful seven-match India-England Men’s Mixed Disability T20I Series 2026, which the visitors won 4-3.

The BCCI president said the meeting also offered an opportunity to hear directly from the players about their experiences during the tour and to witness their commitment to the game.

“Had the honour of meeting the Honourable Union home minister Shri Amit Shah ji & davijit Saikia , Hon’ble secretary BCCI in Delhi during an interaction with the differently abled Indian cricket team. Heartfelt appreciation for the team for their Inspiring performance on the UK tour. Their journey stands as a powerful testament to resilience, determination and an unbreakable spirit. It was deeply moving to hear their experiences and witness their passion for the game. Wishing the team continued success and many more proud moments ahead @BCCI,” Manhas wrote on X on Monday.

The BCCI president said the meeting also offered an opportunity to hear directly from the players about their experiences during the tour and to witness their commitment to the game.

The Indian side then moved ahead with another narrow victory on August 9, beating England by eight runs after defending 125-9. England levelled the series on August 12 with a two-run win while chasing India’s 117-run total. India responded decisively in the next two matches, winning by 54 runs on August 15 and 18 runs on August 16. The visitors sealed the series 4-3 on August 19, finishing the contest with an 18-run victory after posting 206-4.
