Jan. 13 (CRICKETNMORE) - Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan became the third batsman for his country to pass the 3,000 run milestone when he reached 71 in the first innings of the opening Test against New Zealand in Wellington on Friday.

He also becomes country's second most prolific batsman and just behind Tamim Iqbal who has 3405 test runs to his name. Earlier, Habibul Bashir was at No.2 position of most test runs by a Bangladesh batsmen list.

Shakib also has 159 wickets in test cricket.
