Fighting knocks from Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant help Delhi Capitals(DC) score a respectable total of 156/6 against Mumbai Indians(MI) in the IPL Final.

Earlier, DC captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first. Mumbai took advantage of the early swing as Delhi lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Trent Boult picked up Marcus Stoinis on the first ball of the IPL final. Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan soon went back to the pavilion as well. DC scored 41 runs in the six overs.

Shreyas Iyer(65*) and Rishab Pant(56) then stabled the innings and put the bad deliveries to the boundaries. They both put a 96 run stand to bring Delhi back into the game. Pant scored his first fifty of the IPL 2020. His knock consisted of four fours and two sixes. 

The run rate slowed down after the wicket of Pant as DC could only manage to score just 38 runs in the last five overs. 

For MI, Trent Boult picked up three wickets in his four overs and conceded 30 runs.
