At just 20 years old, the young all-rounder has shouldered the responsibility of leading the Titans in the state’s premier T20 competition. While results have not gone in his team’s favour so far, Malakar insists the focus remains on steady improvement rather than immediate outcomes.

“I don’t believe in results. I just trust the process. I am doing my best for my team. If things go according to the plan, the performances will follow,” Malakar said.

Tezpur Titans are still searching for their first victory after losing all three of their opening matches. However, the youngster believes the margins have been fine and remains confident that the team can bounce back in the remaining fixtures.

“Our team has lost a few games because of small moments that haven’t gone our way, but we’ll come back stronger,” he added.

Malakar also praised the tournament's standard, saying the Assam Premier League has already established itself as an important platform for local cricketers to showcase their talent and earn opportunities at higher levels.

“Every match has been a nail-biter. The competition has been excellent from the very first day, and this is a fantastic platform for players to show what they are capable of. Performances here can open doors to the next level,” he said.

The 20-year-old also defended the quality of the playing surface, stating that the conditions have given batters every opportunity to succeed.

“Every match has been a nail-biter. The competition has been excellent from the very first day, and this is a fantastic platform for players to show what they are capable of. Performances here can open doors to the next level,” he said.
