Kolkata, Oct 2 (CRICKETNMORE) New Zealand pacer Trent Boult on Sunday termed the hot and humid conditions in the Eden Gardens as one of the "tougher conditions" he has ever seen in his cricket career.

"I have to put these down as some of the tougher conditions I've ever played in my career. I'm not too sure what it looks like on TV but it is pretty taxing. Obviously the dryness in the wicket and in the air is pretty tough," said Boult.

"The last session is probably the easiest session in terms of heat. The only problem is you are just sapped by the time that comes around."

Asked how his team would apply themselves when they bat on the Eden track in the fourth innings of the ongoing second cricket Test against India, who have taken a 339-run lead, Boult said they have batsmen who can bat for long in the middle.

"That is the golden question but we have the guys with the ability to bat long periods of time. In terms of the wicket there is a little bit of variation in bounce and that is obviously going to be in the back of a few of our minds. We have to take it small steps at a time," he said.

He said they would tick off their goals of trying to bat for half a session, then a session.

"And just keep them out there and try to build like that. Anything that is set is definitely achievable," he said.
