Perth Scorchers' first innings abruptly ended at the score of 158/6 as the rain came during the 17th over against Melbourne Stars at Aurora Stadium, Launceston.

Scorchers were looking at a strong finish after being put to bat first by Glenn Maxwell. Colin Munro top-scored with 49 runs in 36 balls with the help of five fours and a six.

Captain Mitchell Marsh got on a golden duck, however, Ashton Turner smoked five sixes during his 17-ball-37 run innings push the scoring rate up. Joe Clarke played a good hand as well, scoring 34 runs in which he smashed three sixes and a four. 

Melbourne Stars once again used eight bowlers during the innings. Nic Maddinson, Liam Thatcher, and Billy Stanlake took two wickets each.
