Australia have included uncapped leg-spinner Mitch Swepson earning a maiden international call-up. The inclusion is a bit surprize as Swepson was given priority over Adam Zampa.

Trevor Hohns, Interim Chairman of Selectors shared reason for including Swepson, "We thought we would go for a more attacking leg-spinner more so than a defensive spinner. That's no disrespect to Adam. Adam is going well as well. Mitchell Swepson has come through the pathway system. He is an exciting young leg-spinner, gives the ball a very good rip, he's a wicket-taking leg-spinner.

"At the end of the day you've got to take wickets to win Test matches. Given the opportunity we feel he could play a part over there and if he doesn't he'll gain a lot from the experience from being there," said Trevor Hohns,

Squad: Steve Smith (c), David Warner (vc), Ashton Agar, Jackson Bird, Peter Handscomb, Josh Hazlewood, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Stephen O'Keefe, Matthew Renshaw, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Wade
