Kolkata, May 28 (IANS) Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowling coach, legendary pacer Wasim Akram Wednesday lauded skipper Gautam Gambhir for instilling confidence among the players which reflected in their performance in the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

KKR defeated Kings XI Punjab in the Qualifier 1 of the IPL to clinch a place in the finals.

"Credit goes to captain... the way he is giving them confidence. Things are going well. The bowlers are doing well. I am here to talk to them mentally, and team is responding well. They are a very talented bunch," Akram told the official broadcaster Sony 6 on the sidelines of the match.

Quizzed about Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan's stellar performance, Akram said the players are playing their best games of the tournament.
