Harare, Jan 29:  Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and fellow opener Oshada Fernando missed half centuries as Sri Lanka finished Day 2 on 122/2, still 284 runs behind Zimbabwe, at stumps on a rain-curtailed day here on Tuesday.

Zimbabwe were all out for 406 after resuming the day at 352/6 riding a century from Sean Williams (107) on Day 1.

For the tourists, Lasith Embuldeniya returned best figures of 4/182.

Karunaratne and Fernando scored identical 44 before both were dismissed by Sikandar Raza and Donald Tiripano respectively to cut short their partnership of 94 for the opening wicket.

At close of play, Kusal Mendis (19 batting) and the seasoned Angelo Mathews (4 batting) were at the crease.
