Brij Bhushan Acquittal: Delhi Court Defers Women Wrestlers’ Appeal Hearing To Sep 28
President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh: A Delhi court on Saturday adjourned to September 28 the hearing on an appeal filed by four women wrestlers challenging the acquittal of former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and former WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar, in the alleged sexual harassment and intimidation case.
The appeal, which was listed before the Rouse Avenue Courts for hearing, could not be taken up due to the unavailability of Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh. The matter has now been adjourned to Monday.
The four women wrestlers have challenged the August 3 judgment of the trial court, which acquitted Singh and Tomar after holding that the prosecution had failed to establish the charges against them beyond reasonable doubt.
