Meghalaya: CM Sangma Highlights Youth Empowerment Vision At Sports Conclave
Chief Minister Conrad: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday reaffirmed Meghalaya's commitment to building a world-class sporting ecosystem and empowering youth through sports, while addressing the Meghalaya Sports Conclave 2026 in Shillong.
Speaking before an audience comprising sports administrators, athletes, policymakers and industry experts, the Chief Minister underlined that the Government's investment in sports extends far beyond the pursuit of medals and sporting success. He described sports as a powerful instrument for youth development, social transformation and long-term state-building.
“It is not just about one medal, one appointment letter, or one stadium. It is about the youth and the opportunity we create for them,” Sangma said while outlining the broader vision behind Meghalaya's ambitious sports development initiatives.
