WATCH: Yuvraj Singh Reacts Angrily As Third Umpire Wrongly Gives Vastrakar Run Out

Pooja Vastrakar run out: In the ongoing Women's Asia Cup 2022, a decision by the TV umpire in India vs Sri Lanka women's match has attracted a lot of heated attention. Team India's bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar had to bear the consequence of a faulty decision by the TV umpire after which Yuvraj Singh reacted angrily on Twitter on the incident. 

The team/players take a DRS when the on-field umpire gives a wrong decision, but what if the TV umpire also makes a mistake? What actually happened was in the 20th over of India's batting, the third umpire wrongly adjudged Pooja Vastrakar's run out. The bowler bowled a full-length delivery where Pooja played a drive and ran for a double.

The batter looked comfortable while running the second. The batter ultimately seemed safely inside the crease with good running. As the call looked close, the decision was referred to the third umpire. After seeing the replay, it seemed like the batter had made it inside the crease in time. After the replay was shown on the big screen, both the batters and the fielding team prepared for the next ball.

However, the third umpire adjudged Pooja Vastrakar out. The on-air commentators were also shocked by this decision. Former Indian ace all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh also reacted angrily on social media. The 40-year-old wrote, 'That’ is such a poor decision by the third umpire ! Should have given pooja vastrakar benefit of doubt !!'

While talking about the match, after being put in to bat first, team India posted 150 runs in 20 overs. Jemimah Rodrigues was the top scorer with 76 runs while Harmanpreet Kaur contributed with 33 runs. In reply, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 109 runs in 18.2 overs. Hemalatha was the top wicket-taker with 3 scalps to her name as India managed to win the match by 41 runs.
