Surya's Incredible Ton Powers India To 191/6 Against New Zealand In 2nd T20I

NZ vs IND 2nd T20I: Suryakumar Yadav became only the 3rd non-New Zealander to score a ton in New Zealand.

NZ vs IND: World's #1 T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, smashed his 2nd T20I ton as he powered India to 191/6 against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I. Suryakumar maintained a tremendous strike rate of 217.65 in his 51-ball stay at the crease. 

In an interesting combination, two left-handers – Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant opened the innings for team India. Rishabh Pant smacked a boundary on the 2nd ball he faced but still managed only 6 runs off 13 balls before he was dismissed in the 6th over.

Ishan Kishan on the other hand started off cautiously but slowly got into the grove as he scored 36 runs in 31 balls with 5 fours & a six. Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat at #3 and after a slow start, Suryakumar changed gears as he smashed the bowlers all around the park. Shreyas Iyer started his innings off with a boundary but was dismissed via hit wicket. 

While Hardik played the anchor, giving the strike to Surya in his knock of 13 runs in 13 balls before getting dismissed in the 20th over. Tim Southee picked up a hat-trick in the final over, where he dismissed Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar on the 3rd, 4th and 5ht delivery of the over. Suryakumar Yadav on the other end remained unbeaten after scoring 111* runs in 51 balls with 11 fours & 7 sixes. 

For New Zealand, Tim Southee picked up 2 wickets while Lockie Ferguson grabbed 2 wickets.  Ish Sodhi also managed a wicket to his name. However, none of the bowlers had an economy rate below 8 RPO. With the 1st T20I washed out, the winner of this match will avoid a defeat in the 3-match series.

Earlier, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss & opted to bowl first against India in the 2nd T20I. This match is being played at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.
