The biggest domestic T20 league in the world, the Indian Premier League is set to return for its 15th season. IPL 2022 will kick off with a clash between IPL 2021 finalists Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. 

Over the years, while many teams have managed to win the title numerous times, some teams are waiting for their first IPL title. With IPL 2022 to start from Saturday, let's take a look at teams with the most wins in IPL.

#5. Delhi Capitals (93 wins)

The capital-franchise Delhi Capitals have won 93 matches in IPL out of 210 matches. DC have lost 111 matches while 4 matches have tied and 2 matches have returned no result. Delhi's highest score was 231, came against Kings XI Punjab in the 26th match of IPL 2011. After being out in to bat first, openers David Warner & Virender Sehwag scored 77 runs each as Delhi Daredevils (then) scored 231/4 in 20 overs, and went on to win the match by 29 runs.

#4. Royal Challengers Bangalore (98 wins)

Even though RCB are yet to win their maiden IPL title, RCB rank 4th in the teams with the most wins in IPL history. With 98 wins in 211 matches, Bangalore have 106 losses with 3 tied matches and 4 No Results. Royal Challengers Bangalore have the highest score & lowest score ever in IPL history - 263 & 49 respectively. RCB scored 263/5 against Pune Warriors in the 31st match of IPL 2013, where Chris Gayle scored a record 175* off 66 balls.

#3. Kolkata Knight Riders (107 wins)

The 2-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders rank 3rd with 107 wins in 209 games, losing 98 of them and 4 tied matches. KKR's highest score was 245/6 which came in the 44th match of the IPL 2018, where Sunil Narine scored 75 runs off 36 balls while opening the innings and captain Dinesh Karthik contributed with 50 runs in 23 balls. KKR went on to win the match by 31 runs.

The four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings ranks second with 117 wins to their name in 195 matches. CSK have lost 76 matches while 1 match each have ended in a tie and no result. Chennai's highest total of 246/5 came against Rajasthan Royals in the 32nd match of IPL 2010 where Murali Vijay scored 127 runs in 56 balls and Albie Morkel smacked 62 runs in 34 balls. CSK went on to win the match by 23 runs.

Mumbai Indians are undoubtedly the best team in IPL history. With 125 wins in 217 matches, MI have won the IPL trophies 5 times, most by any franchise. Mumbai's highest score is 235/9 which came against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021, where MI needed to win by a margin of 171 runs to qualify for the playoffs.
