IND vs ZIM: India registered a comfortable win against Zimbabwe in their last Super 12, restricting the opponent to 115 in 17.2 overs and winning the match by 71 runs. India has finished on top of Group 2 and will face England in the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2022. 

Chasing 187 runs to win, Zimbabwe yet again lost too many wickets in the powerplay. Wesley Madhevere (0), Regis Chakabva (0), Sean Williams (11) and Craig Ervine (13) were dismissed till the 7th over as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya grabbed wickets in their first overs. 

Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl held the crease in the middle overs as these two etched a partnership of 60 runs in 35 balls for the 6th wicket. Once Ryan Burlwas dismissed in the 14th over, wickets kept falling at regular intervals before Zimbabwe were ultimately bowled out in the 18th over. 

Sikandar Raza scored 34 runs off 24 balls while Ryan Burl top scored with 35 runs in 22 balls with 5 fours & a six as Zimbabwe were bowled out under 120 runs. For India, Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed 3 wickets while Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya managed 2 wickets each. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel also managed 1 wicket each. 

In the first innings, After a classy fifty by KL Rahul, Suryakumar came out with guns blazing as India posted 186/5 against Zimbabwe in their last Super 12 stage match in T20 World Cup 2022. 

After an opening stand of 27 runs, Rohit Sharma (15) was dismissed in the 4th over. Man in form Virat Kohli was dismissed for only the second time in this tournament. Kohli managed 26 runs off 25 balls before Sean Williams got the better of the ace batter. 

KL Rahul on the other end scored 51 runs in 35 balls before getting dismissed in the 13th over. Rishabh Pant, playing his first match of the tournament, managed only 3 runs before an unbelievable catch by Sean Williams got the better of him. 

Thereon, Suryakumar Yadav came to the crease and continued his blazing form, smacking 61* runs in 25 balls with 6 fours & 4 sixes. With Hardik Pandya (18), Suryakumar added 65 runs for the 5th wicket, taking India to a good total.  For Zimbabwe, Sean Williams grabbed 2 wickets while Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza managed 1 wicket each. 

Earlier, India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bat first against Zimbabwe in the Super 12 Group 2 match of T20 World Cup 2022. This match was played at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.
