Spinners led the charge as India bowled out West Indies for 176 in the first innings of the 1st ODI at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
India's new ODI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. India began brilliantly as Mohammad Siraj bowled Shai Hope in the third over of the game. Indian bowlers were right on the money throughout the powerplay as West Indies could only manage 39 runs in the first ten overs.
Playing his first ODI after 2017, Washington Sundar got his first wickets of the match in the 11th over as he got Brandon King caught at mid-wicket. In the same over, Sundar trapped Darren Bravo in front as well.
