The IPL 2022 draft is expected to be finalised this week and the new Ahmedabad-based franchise has made a few developments for the upcoming season. 

Ahmedabad owner, CVC Capital, has been given clearance regarding their ownership from the BCCI after the controversy arose due to the company's investments in betting companies outside India. 

However, it has been learned that the CVC Capitals has received the Letter of Intent from the board and everything has now been cleared for them. 

Simultaneously, the franchise has reportedly roped in Vikram Solanki, Ashish Nehra, and Gary Kirsten for the coaching roles. 

There have been various reports regarding the new captain and these suggest that Hardik Pandya will be the captain of Ahmedabad in IPL 2022. Pandya, who wasn't picked in the Mumbai Indians retentions, is set to lead the new franchise. 

Apart from Pandya, Ahmedabad has picked Ishan Kishan and Rashid Khan as the other two draft picks ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, which is expected to be held in the second week of February.
