SCO vs IRE: Curtis Campher scored a match-winning half-century as he powered Ireland to a crucial win in Round 1 of the T20 World Cup. With this win, Ireland have kept their qualification chances alive for the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022. 

Chasing 177 runs to win, Ireland were down and out at 61/4 as Scottish bowlers - Mark Watt, Brad Wheal, Safyaan Sharif and Michael Leask struck with a wicket each. Veterans Paul Stirling (8), Andrew Balbirnie (14) and quality batters Lorcan Tucker (20) and Harry Tector (14) were dismissed early.

From thereon, number 5 and number 6 batters - Curtis Campher and George Dockrell, held the crease and made sure no more wickets fell. The two batters etched an unbeaten partnership of 119 runs in 57 balls for the 5th wicket, taking Ireland across the winning line with 1 over remaining. 

While George Dockrell scored 39* runs off 27 balls while Curtis Campher smacked 72* runs off just 32 balls with 7 fours & 2 sixes as Ireland completed their highest successful run chase in T20Is. 

In the first innings, Scotland opener Michael Jones smacked his T20I career's best knock, scoring 86 runs off 55 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Captain Richie Berrington scored 37 runs while Matthew Cross contributed with 28 runs. For Ireland, Curtis Campher picked up 2 wickets while Joshua Little and Mark Adair managed 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Scotland captain Richie Berrington won the toss & opted to bat first against Ireland in the 7th match of Round 1 in T20 World Cup 2022. This match was played at Bellerive Oval, Hobart.
