The ball went on to hit his pad, followed by a loud appeal from the bowler & fielders. But the on-field umpire Nitin Menon adjudged the batter not out. What was even more surprising was Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane not taking the review. This was a poor decision by Rahane as was revealed in the replay that the ball was going to hit on the stumps with 'impact' in line as well.

After witnessing the replay on the big screen, Ashwin was frustrated beyond measure and kicked on the ground. Ajinkya Rahane was also seen disappointed after the replay.
