National Shooting Championship Competitions: Addya Katyal of Delhi produced a calm and composed performance in the final to claim the Junior Women’s Trap title at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (Shotgun), currently underway at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range near New Delhi on Tuesday.

Addya finished on top with 42 hits, while Uttar Pradesh’s Sabeera Haris pushed her close till the latter stages but had to settle for silver with 41, while Tanisska Senthilkumar of Tamil Nadu secured the bronze with 28 hits.

Addya had earlier topped the qualification round with an impressive 112 hits, carrying her strong form into the final. Bhavya Tripathi of Delhi finished second in qualification with 110 but ended the final in sixth place with 11. Tanisska qualified third with 105, followed by Darshna Rathore of Rajasthan (104), Sabeera Haris (102), and Ananya Yaduvanshi of Delhi (101), completing the top six who advanced to the medal round.

The final saw Addya maintain consistency under pressure, pulling away at the crucial stages to secure the gold. Sabeera mounted a strong challenge and remained in contention till the closing series, eventually finishing just one hit behind. Tanisska stayed steady in the middle phase of the final to claim third place, while Darshna Rathore finished fourth with 23. Ananya Yaduvanshi ended fifth with 17.

Delhi claimed the Junior Women’s Trap team gold with a combined score of 323, thanks to the efforts of Addya Katyal, Bhavya Tripathi, and Ananya Yaduvanshi. Tamil Nadu finished second in the team standings with 295, represented by Tanisska Senthilkumar, Nilaa Rajaa Baalu, and Anthra Rajsekar. Rajasthan completed the podium in third place with a total of 274, through Darshna Rathore, Maitreyi Singh, and Mahika Kitawat.

The 68th NSCC action continues in the new year, with the 10m Air Rifle Women finals scheduled for January 2, 2026, at the MP State Shooting Academy in Bhopal, while the Trap Men final will take place on the same day at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi.
