Rambagh Golf Club: Kushal Singh’s terrific seven-under 63 helped him surge ahead on Day Two of the Jaipur Open 2025, an INR 1 crore event, being played at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur. Gurugram’s Kushal Singh (64-63), whose fortunes have been on the upswing since his runner-up finish at the PGTI NexGen event in Bhubaneswar last month, totalled 13-under 127 at the halfway stage to gain one spot from his overnight tied second place and hold a one-shot lead.
PGTI Order of Merit leader Yuvraj Sandhu (65-63) too shot a 63 to end round two in second place at 12-under 128, thus rising four spots from day one.
Veer Ahlawat, the 2024 PGTI Ranking winner, produced a tournament low score of eight-under 62, an error-free round, that propelled him nine spots to tied third at 11-under 129. Joining Veer in joint third place was Ravi Kumar, who moved up six positions as a result of his 63, another bogey-free effort.
Manoj S., the first-round leader, dropped to tied 11th at five-under 135 following his score of 72 on Wednesday.
Two professionals from the host city of Jaipur made the cut, including Prakhar Asawa (two-under 138) and Hemendra Choudhary (one-under 139). Prakhar and Hemendra were placed tied 23rd and tied 34th, respectively.
The cut came down at even-par 140 with 54 professionals progressing to the money rounds.
Kushal Singh followed up his top-notch 64 in round one with another superb effort of 63 on day two. Thirty-one-year-old Kushal, who has posted a top-10, a top-20, and a top-30 finish in his last three events on the PGTI, has been steadily making his way up in the PGTI Rankings. He is currently placed 61st in the PGTI Order of Merit.
Kushal, who took a three-year break from golf prior to 2024 in order to attend to his family business, made a slow start on day two as he scored five pars followed by a bogey on the sixth hole. Kushal then rallied with eight birdies between the seventh and the 18th, where he came up with some outstanding drives as well as a couple of quality up and downs.
Kushal said, “I’ve been playing well since the start of the year when I finished inside the top-10 at the PGTI Qualifying School. However, my season really gained momentum after my runner-up finish at the NexGen event in Bhubaneswar. I’ve been quite consistent and have been shooting good scores from there on.”
