Talented Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Has A Long Way To Go, Says Sanath Jayasuriya
Corporate Cricket World Cup: Legendary Sri Lanka cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya has lauded young Indian batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, saying that he has a long way to go, while terming Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson as talented and proven players.
15-year-old Sooryavanshi, who made his international debut in the T20I tour of England in July. was recently an unused member in India’s 3-0 series win over Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, as Abhishek and Sanju made 346 runs between themselves across the series, including sharing a 142-run opening stand in the third T20I.
The trio are in Japan for the historic one-off T20I in Sano on Tuesday, before playing in the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. “They're talented and they've been proven players and all three, Sooryavanshi and all these players are really good. Sooryavanshi has a long way to go and when he will get the opportunity, he will do good,” Jayasuriya said to IANS on the sidelines of the launch of the Corporate Cricket World Cup on Sunday.
