ECB CEO Reveals Why Brendon McCullum Was Removed as England Test Coach

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gould on Sunday clarified that the board had ‘invoked the notice period’ in Brendon McCullum’s contract to remove him from the men’s Test head coach role, adding that the call was strictly based on recent results.

The decision came after under McCullum, England had a miserable red-ball run that saw them lose seven of their last nine Test matches. McCullum, however, will continue in his role as the head coach of the England men’s white-ball teams.
