R Ashwin Joins San Francisco Unicorns, Becomes First Indian in Major League Cricket
Ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is all set to become the first Indian playing to feature in Major League Cricket (MLC) after signing with the San Francisco Unicorns for the 2026 season.
Ashwin was a member of the Indian team winning the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. In all, he picked 765 international wickets from 287 matches across all three formats and remains the seventh-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket’s history.

MLC 2025: San Francisco Unicorns Sign New Zealand Wicketkeeper Tim Seifert
San Francisco Unicorns have added New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert to their roster for the 2025 Major League Cricket season. Seifert joins the Unicorns with a wealth of top-level experience in international cricket with 66 T20I caps and over 250 franchise appearances to his name with teams including the Kolkata Knight Riders, Melbourne Renegades, and Northern Districts in his native New Zealand.

The North America Cricket League: Syed Abil Ali, who played 29 Tests for India between December 1967 and December 1974 as an all-rounder, passed away at the age of 83 in Tracy, California, his relative, Reza Khan of North America Cricket League (NACL) informed in a social media post on Wednesday.
