With Sanju Samson not getting a chance to play in a rain-hit T20I series against New Zealand, it brought plenty of criticism for the Indian think-tank. With the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand starting from Friday, many are expecting that the right-handed batter who is a second wicket keeping option will be given a run.

In the absence of many first-choice players in ODIs since July, Samson has grabbed his chances by scoring 248 runs in eight 50-over innings at a high average of 82.66 and strike-rate of 107.35, including two half-centuries.
