    Mumbai Marathon: Srinu Bugatha, Nirmaben Thakor Top Indian Finishers As Lemi Retains Crown; Aberash Wins Women's Title

    World Athletics Gold Label Road: Ethiopian Hayle Lemi Berhanu became only the second athlete to defend the men’s crown in the history of the Mumbai Marathon, a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race, as he successfully crossed the finish line in 2 hours 07:50 minutes.

    With Sunday’s victory, Lemi replicated the feat of the Kenyan runner John Kelai, who won back-to-back titles here in 2007 and 2008.

    Newcomer Aberash Minsewo won the top prize in the women's section on her debut while Bugatha Srinu and Nirmaben Thakor emerged as the top Indian finishers among men and women, respectively, in the race held on Sunday.
