Asia Pacific Open Golf Championship: India's Karandeep Kochhar had to dig deep and work hard to secure a Tied-4th place after round three at the US$ 2 million International Series Japan at the Caledonian Golf Club in Chiba, Japan, on Saturday.
After two consecutive bogey-free rounds, the Indian player experienced a mixed third round, carding five bogeys, which offset his three birdies, resulting in a 2-over 73. His total score of 8-under 205 places him two shots behind leaders Shugo Imahira from Japan and the Korean Hongatek Kim, both of whom are at 10-under 203 at the International Series season opener.
Kochhar began strongly with a birdie on the second hole, but consecutive bogeys on the third and fourth holes set him back. He attempted to recover with another birdie on the sixth but lost strokes again on the ninth and 12th holes. He then birdied the 14th and bogeyed the 17th, finishing the day with a score of 2-over.
