Milber Bertrand Russell: Baranica’s historic pole vault medal at the Asian Games has renewed belief in her long-time coach Milber Bertrand Russell, who now hopes the 29-year-old Tamil Nadu athlete can consistently raise her personal best and establish herself at the world level.

Baranica made history on September 25 by becoming the first Indian, male or female, to win a pole vault medal at the Olympics, Asian Games or Commonwealth Games, and Russell believes the landmark achievement can be a springboard for bigger goals.
