MLS: Messi Scores But Inter Miami Playout 2-2 Draw Against Nashville
MLS Golden Boot: A goal from captain Lionel Messi, who has now recorded 99 goals across all competitions for Inter Miami, and an own goal secured the point for the Inter Miami with a 2-2 draw at home against Nashville SC in MLS regular season action at the Nu Stadium.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 4th minute to take the lead through a goal from Sam Surridge. Inter Miami equalised in the 19th minute through an own goal, as a corner kick delivery from Messi was deflected into the back of the net by Nashville defender Reed Baker-Whiting.
The 1-1 scoreline then remained unchanged through the end of the first half.
