    Diego Gomez Strikes As Paraguay Stun Brazil In World Cup Qualifier

    Diego Gomez: For the first time since June 2008, Paraguay defeated Brazil in a World Cup qualifier, as they edged the five-time world champions 1-0. Diego Gomez supplied the fireworks with a superbly taken goal in the first half.

    Paraguay climbed to seventh in the table with nine points, just one point behind A Brazil.

    The goal came in the 20th minute, as Gomez gathered an attempted clearance right outside the area, took a touch and sent in a sizzler with the outside of his right foot that banked in off the post.
