World Boxing Cup Final: Ankush Panghal moved within one victory of an Asian Games medal after the Indian boxer produced another assured performance to advance to the men’s 80kg quarterfinals at the Aichi-Nagoya Games on Wednesday.

Competing at his maiden Asian Games, Panghal secured a 5-0 unanimous decision over Bahrain’s Hamsa Vogel in the Round of 16, maintaining India’s perfect start in the boxing competition.

The 21-year-old entered the bout carrying considerable momentum after opening his campaign with a 3-0 victory over Brunei’s Vogel in the Round of 32. He once again dictated the pace against the Bahrain boxer, combining sharp combinations with controlled movement to leave the judges with little doubt over the outcome.
