Athletics: Abhay Singh Claims Sprint Double As Records Continue To Tumble On Final Day Of National Junior Meet

Athletics Federation Competition: Abhay Singh continued his superb performance by adding the 200m title to the 100m one he claimed two days back to complete a grand double as several national and meet records were improved on the final day of the 24th National Junior (U20) Athletics Federation Competition at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium in Karnataka in Tumkur on Sunday.
The majority of the medal winners also achieved the Asian junior qualification mark in their respective events.
Sprinter Abhay Singh, representing Reliance, continued to dominate 200m on the final day, setting national as well as meet records. His gold-winning time of 20.82 seconds was better than the national record of 21.02 seconds set by N Srinivas in 2021. The meet record of 21.02 seconds also stands in the name of N Srinivas.
