Gujarat: Modern Sports Facilities Planned At GIPCA Ahead Of CWG, Olympics
Gujarat Police Wrestling Cluster Competition: Modern sports facilities are being developed at the Gujarat Institute of Prisons and Correctional Administration (GIPCA) in Ahmedabad with a view to supporting training requirements ahead of the proposed Olympics and Commonwealth Games in the city, Director General of Police (DGP) (Crime) K.L.N. Rao said on Sunday.
Speaking during the Prisons Department's National Sports Day 2026 celebrations at GIPCA, Rao added that the campus was undergoing modernisation under Phase-I through the Police Housing Corporation.
The upgraded facility will include smart classrooms, a computer laboratory and a library, besides other training infrastructure for officers and employees ranging from Jail Assistants to Deputy Superintendents.
